sunday by sonic youth.
I am obsessed with a thousand leaves right now. It's a perfect little confection for a dreamy spring day.

Deep In The Heart Of Texas

Check out this group shot of The Choir Practice modeling the sashes that I made up for them. Aren't they just the cutest? Just another lovely day at SXSW hanging out with The Ice Cream Man.

Shane also did some modeling for White Apple when he was in Texas. Here he is showing that the oversized brooches aren't just for girls! Thanks Shaner! You look mahvelous dahling!

A Pocket Full Of Posies

I've sprinkled some sweet flowers all over the white apple etsy shop! Just in time for spring! I also added a few from my all-night beading session from a few weeks ago. Go have a look!

Heart Handmade

Marichelle has just featured my prick up your ears brooch on her wonderful blog (Heart) ♥Handmade! My little jackrabbit is featured along side of some pretty lovely and sophisticated hares! She's linked to all of the featured items here.
You'll have to fight me for those tea towels though!

Freaky Friday

When was I in Vienna? Last night apparently.
This photo freaked me out a little... this girl is my doppelganger!

Baby Its Cold Outside

Its unseasonably cold lately and everyday I am awoken from my slumber by that old familiar clanging of 100 year old radiators starting up. I love my radiators, but sometimes they're a little loud. Now if I could afford the $12 000 price tag on these heatwave radiators by Jaga, they would all be replaced! Just lovely!

Almost Prefect

This plate by Trixie Delicious at Etsy is fantastic! But not for me... I'm not exactly the "eco geek" type, but if I were I would be all over this dish! Alas, my search for "Losol Ware Braeside by Keeling and Co. Ltd. Burslem England" came up empty handed. Boooooooooo! I like these better than those other dishes I posted back here. You don't have a set of these lying around somewhere too do you Anabela?

Olle!

My lovely sister and I were running around downtown and Chinatown this afternoon. What a great day! Its so good to have my partner in crime back for some good old fashioned shopping adventures! (Which probably isn't the best idea for an unemployed person with a bank account reading in the negatives.) We scored some pretty great things though. I picked up this Olle Eskell book at Urban Outfitters for $4.99! How can they make any money on this stuff? Its just crazy! I also picked up a sweet Biggie Smalls T shirt! B.I.G. 4eva. My sister got a tiny animal fur keychain in Chinatown. Hmmm. Why am I spending more than she is?

The Lindy Hop

I've been pouring over this Advertising in the 20s book from Taschen lately. I'm getting inspiration for some new jewelry backing cards. I figure that I'm going to run out of Ikea Christmas cards soon, so I should really get on this!

Band Geek

Well, Shane and the rest of The Choir Practice are on their way to SXSW today. I made up these band sashes for them (a la pathfinders, without the merit badges) to wear whilst roaming the streets in Texas! I so wish I could be joining in on the merriment, but when one is unemployed and the passes alone cost 500 bucks (!) one has to stay home and clean the refrigerator instead. Boooooo!

On the plus side... my sister will be joining me for four days on an impromptu vacation! YAAAAAAY!!! We're going to eat junkfood and shop the whole time she's here! I'm really excited!

Insomnia

Remember how I spent the other day completely high on cold medication? Well, the funny thing about that was that I spent the whole day kind of half asleep in a daze, but when bedtime rolled around I could not fall asleep for the life of me! I ended up getting out of bed after about 10 minutes of lying there completely awake, only to go into the studio until the wee hours of the morning. Twelve pairs of earrings later and I have a doosie of a shop update on my hands. I've posted half in my shop right now. I made six different colourways of the antique brass and glass pearl earrings alone! I was really focussed. Pseudo-ephedrine has a strange effect on me...

Walking In The Forest

I also added a new wapiti brooch to the "lost in the forest" section of my shop! He's really cute, and smaller for those of you who don't want a giant brooch hanging out on your sweater!

Tidal Wave

I did a mega update of seahorse brooches in the shop today! It was a virtual tidal wave of sea creatures!

Lullaby Lovlies

That sweetheart of a girl, Anabela sent me this lovely surprise in the mail. It's a tiny hand-crank music box that plays Brahm's Lullaby! I'm going to try to use it to repair the lamp that she sent me a few weeks ago. The music box portion of it was in complete ruin!

AND to top it all off she wrapped it up in a little piece of woodgrain cotton tied with a sweet brown ribbon! All of which will be used for some project down the line! It's just too, too lovely! Thank you Anabela! You made my day!

I've Been Blogged!

A Shiny Squirrel went shopping in my shop today! Thank you Jessica! Your jackrabbit is on the way!

Check out the Shiny Squirrel Store too, while we're on the subject. She has some amazing and exclusive designs and artwork over there as well, including a really great print by my personal favourite, Ashley Goldberg!

Swoon

Dudes, I'm totally high right now. I am sick with that wretched flu that Shane had last week and now I am reaping the benefits of medicine-head. I was having trouble trying to make earrings a few minutes... no, wait, that was a few hours ago now... See? Benefits. I don't even know what I'm doing right now! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Being high is not the only reason that I'm swooning. I'm also in love! I'm in love with Joshua Shaneman and I don't care who knows it!

Isn't he dreamy? He is the creation of Adam Smith, and he is for sale in his etsy shop right now! But don't buy him... unless you plan on giving him to me. Because I love him. And I would take care of him better than you would. Because I love him more than you ever could.

You can buy anything else from Adam's shop, though. Because everything is AWESOME! Seriously. This man is good. His art is breath taking! Go to his website now!

Putting Out The Good Silver

Design boom, as part of their dining in 2015 competition, has posted this beautiful cutlery called putting out the good silver designed by Cygalle Shapiro of the Netherlands. It is made of antique silverware combined with plastic! The perfect combination of upcycling and technology! A gorgeous juxtaposition of materials!
