folie a deux

Ummmmm, hello gorgeous!
Rich-in-craft is making these absolutely to die for meggagoth handbags with antler handles! Have you seen these? They are amazing, but probably cost more than my life is worth! I want one in every colour so bad I can taste blood in my mouth!

ps-I took the photos from here

tears of a clown

We went to see The Walkmen and Man Man lastnight and I think I imbibed a wee bit over my limit because today my head is feeling a bit too tight. I had to rush out and run an errand thismorning so I threw some stuff on and took these wardrobe remix photos when I returned.

My headache is probably a combination of the G&T's and this crazed man using my head as a drum :( It was all in good fun though. Look at those short-shorts!

gold lion vs brass knuckles

OMG! Why choose one or the other when you can have both? How badly do I want this ring?!!! Well kiddies, let me tell you, it's A LOT!

Featured etsy seller Fleathers has some of the best mutated animal rings I have ever seen. Actually, come to think of it, I haven't ever really seen any other rings of this nature...

There's also these cute bunny love rings that are screaming my name!

Who wants to buy me one? I'll take either!

rainy day blues

Wow! Two days in a row over at wardrobe remix! I'm on a roll! I like my outfits better when it's not a thousand degrees out! Autumn is in the air and I am loving it!

If you like my earrings from the wardrobe remix below, I've added an identical pair to my etsy shop! I've also restocked a bunch of old favourites, so the shop is just bursting at the seams with goodness!

theoretically speaking

Things have been quiet over here for a while, but today I was inspired to do a little wardrobe remix.

I'm convinced that the only thing holding this outfit together is a combination of colour theory and random pop culture references! This outfit is one part Lee Holloway, one part Carrie Bradshaw, and one part Ronald McDonald.

I recently celebrated my birthday by watching a Michel Gondry double bill and having an inspired mid-life crisis. Therefore the bad-home-dye-job in "Ravishing Ronnie Red"! I've been dying (no pun intended) to wear this top, but feared the combination of red hair and yellow clothing would evoke a message that I did not intend to send... and no, I do not want fries with that shake.

awwww man... not again

I was feeling nostalgic for my long lost love: saftey glasses! I had pretty much abandoned them years ago, but when american apparel started selling them, their fate was sealed. They remained entombed in the sunglasses box for what seemed an eternity. When Shane and I started dating 5 years ago he had a love/hate relationship with my sense of style. I was really into these safety glasses that I had thrifted and I had this asymmetrical haircut that lent itself perfectly to the side ponytail! He would be so embarrassed to be seen with me. It was GREAT!

I've added this little gem to the wardrobe remix pool over at flickr. I use term gem with a large dose of sarcasm!

In other news: we have another mouse visitor. booooooo! Just another reason to hate the olympics. All this senseless redevelopment and landscaping has created, not only a gorgeous place to sit on the waterfront, but an influx of homeless rodents looking for new digs. Why do they have to come to my house?!!!

Also, is that not the WORST floor tile ever?!!! It's some sort of marble composite that looks as if a colony of sea gulls have had their way with it (if you know what I mean). How I wish I could rip it up and remodel the kitchen!

who's grandma lives here?

Following this post about the something's hiding in here live/work space interior I was inspired, nay, compelled to paint my furniture! I had been thinking about this for the better part of a year, knowing full well that I am wishy-washy at the best of times and I live with a man obsessed with brown!

I had this sort of dusty mint green (some call it sage) oil paint lying around that I had intended for a discarded art project (which is now fully back ON!) and some chairs of questionable fashion. They came with the coffee table and I thought that they were adorable with their short legs and stunted stature. Although the gross old olive green upholstery and icky brown wood were not so adorable. I just put two and two together and Voila!

You see my problem.

I'm questioning my choice in either the paint colour or the upholstery fabric. Separate they are good but together they look like some granny came and vomited vintage Scandinavian shabby chic in my living room. Gross right?

Let's assume that I don't want to repaint these chairs. I've chosen some new fabrics from Purl Soho which actually had an overwhelmingly spot on selection. I had a hard time narrowing it down to these nine! Please help me! I can't decide!

Secretly I've already purchased one... tee hee! Let's see if you can guess!

since when is it cool to drink and drive?

Okay, okay, I come from a small town where drinking and driving is commonplace... but only because the streets are usually unoccupied by other drivers. I no longer live in such a place. So why is it that moments ago I not only heard Bon Jovi's "Dead or Alive" blaring from someone's car stereo, but also the drunk karaoke sing-along serenade from driver to passenger? I can only assume that they were drunk because both seemed to be having the time of their lives! Bon Jovi does not equal good times. Ever. Unless you are drunk out of your mind!
